Auction Vibe is a Great New Internet Auction Site

I have tried several internet auction sites and really like this Auction Vibe! It is an Australian site and is very reasonably priced indeed! I have some lovely wedding cards listed there like this cute foxes one.
Foxes Wedding Card on Auction Vibe
It is possible to list items completely for free on Auction Vibe, and the final selling costs are much cheaper than other places I have used. I think it is important to support Australia and Australian firms so hope you will join me on Auction Vibe soon!

Rhinestone Necklace ~ Bling Bling

After selling my large rug through an internet auction I next sold something else quite small. It was a pretty rhinestone necklace.

I do have another few of these left from a small batch I bought at a different online auction. They were included in a small parcel of lost freight. Each diamond look necklace is in a silver plated setting that gives it a stylish sparkling glamorous look. These are brand new with a recommended retail price of $24.95, so my price of $10.00 is a bargain for something so pretty. They are 52cm long with an adjustable chain to shorten or lengthen as required, so are ideal for an internet auction item as the postage is not high.

Persian Style Runner Rug

In a way it sometimes seems surprising what sort and size of items can be bought and sold at an online auction.
Recently I sold this Persian style hallway rug. It was about 250cm long and 80cm wide. Mum had given it to me when she moved house but I reluctantly had to admit there was no practicable place to stretch it out in my own small home. Rather than have it gathering dust and moth holes in a shed, I finally decided to sell it via an internet auction to take Mum out to dinner on the proceeds. We ate well that night!

Winx Fairy Birthday Candles

I bought these pretty fairy cake candles at an internet auction recently.
They are two of the popular 'Winx Club' Fairies, Bloom and Techna. Having three young nieces often demanding fairy cakes but always wanting different ones from their sisters, I thought these would help with future creations. I had already noticed these are quite expensive at the supermarket, so I bought a few extra to sell on a different online auction site later.

Now How is This for a Coincidence!?

Some time ago I sold a few of my very large collection of children's books via an internet auction. These were the four animal stories shown here.
I wrapped 'Walter the Farting Dog' and 'Crunch the Crocodile' in a separate parcel from 'Clifford Takes a Trip' and 'Clifford's Family' in order to keep postage posts down. However, the buyer did not pay so I then had to put them up for sale again. At the time I had about two hundred children's books listed so imagine my surprise when a few months later a different person bought (and paid for) 'Walter the Farting Dog' and 'Crunch the Crocodile'! I had not gotten around to unwrapping them so all I had to do was write out a new envelope and put them in the post. 'Clifford Takes a Trip' and 'Clifford's Family' are still wrapped together so are there any takers?!

Novel Fridge Magnet Tool Set

Here is something different for the claytons home handyman. His own miniature drill tool set as an unusual gift idea!
I have sold quite a few of these cute tool magnets on an internet auction site already as they have been quite popular. There are four different tools but six varieties as there is a slate blue buzz saw tool plus a grey buzz saw tool. Likewise the drill tool is available as blue with grey trim or vice versa, but the jigsaw cutter tool and the chainsaw tool are only available in blue. As the postage for four is the same as for one, they have sold mainly in sets, but of course they can be bought individually. The blades on all these magnet tools move realistically as well, adding to their originality.

Scrat from Ice Age toy to herald in our winter

The latest items I bought from an online auction were some Scrat character toys from the popular animated movie Ice Age.
He is desperately clutching his acorn while at the same time looking desperately worried as he seeks a safe place to desperately hide his prize. Well, yes, Scrat is a desperate character, as we all know! I immediately gave one of these Scrat toys to my nephew for his second birthday and he was very happy indeed with his new toy. At 30cm it is much larger than it appears in this photo. I do hope you appreciate the trouble I went to in order to find a suitable background to show him off appropriately!

A Bright Cheerful Kite Flies Out

On my internet auction site I have recently sold one of these lovely large brightly coloured butterfly kites that fell off the back of a truck. Literally!
The small bundle of them seems to have dropped off a load and was never claimed, so ended up at a disposal auction, which is where I bought them. One had to be discarded because it was badly damaged by tyre treads from when it was lying on the road. I gave several away to relatives and friends but was still left with a handful which I decided to auction myself. As they were price tagged in readiness for sale with a RRP of $19.95, my special sale price of just $12.50 is still less, even though postage of $5.50 has to be added on. They are just the thing for our current breezy autumn days!

My New Pink Cockatoo Flies In

While looking at toys on internet auction I found this cute Australian cockatoo or galah.
This little chap is just so soft and fluffy. Ok, so birds are not really 'fluffy' in the same way as cats, dogsrabbits and bilbys. But he is still quite cute. His wings can spread out so he looks like is flying, too. Now, see a cat, dog, rabbit or bilby do that in a hurry!

Silky Soft Panda Bear Travels from Adelaide to Melbourne

One of the most recent items I have sold via internet auction was a brand new fluffy toy, a silky soft plush panda bear with a cheekily cheerful grin.
He is about 30cm tall and his new owner advised that she was very happy indeed with him. I posted him slightly curled up in a small box and his recipient commented that it looked like he was quietly snoozing there. I do have two more left but am sure they will go to good homes soon. As South Australia has the only two real panda bears to live permanently in this country, the now reasonably famous Funi and Wang Wang, it seemed almost like I was selling a special souvenir instead of a child's toy!

Tantric Massage Oil ~ Bohdi Spice Scent

I bought this pleasantly scented Tantric Bohdi Spice massage oil for a very good price on a local internet auction site recently.
It has a carnation and almond oil base and is very enjoyable to use. Some massage oils are quite sticky but this one was absorbed reasonably quickly into the skin, just leaving an agreeable musky scent. Apparently there several other aromas in the range so I shall have to look out for them.

Rose Wine from Clare Valley and Cats from Capena

At the latest auction I was lucky enough to buy another two of the cartons of that lovely Clare Valley rose style wine, and the price was exactly as before, a mere $2.44 per bottle. That appears to be the last of this lot so I shall have to keep my open for a different great tasting bargain...
At the same auction I also bought this framed 2001 cat art print by well known Austrian artist Rosina Wachtmeister. The actual art work is about 15cm square while the entire framed item is closer to 30cm square. Generally I am not a huge fan of her Picasso style feline paintings, but I did like this particular picture, entitled "Cats from Capena".

Care Bears are Very Popular Again

Recently I had an unexpected run on my Care Bears and sold all of those I had on hand via an internet auction. As well as a three large toys, blue Bedtime Bear, orange Champ Bear and lavender Harmony Bear, all going to different buyers, I sold this cute set of four tiny Care Bears, being Tenderheart Bear, Wish Bear, Cheer Bear and another Bedtime Bear.
Now I am on the lookout for some more to recycle through the auction system! I have since found a large pink Cheer Bear plus another small one, but have not put them up for sale quite yet, as I might be able to find the full small set to auction together. There is no rush as in the meantime I get to admire these cheerful toys each day.

Clare Valley Rose Wine Bought at Auction for Great Price

Recently I bought some Clare Valley rose style wine at an auction and my carton of twelve bottles worked out at a princely $2.44 per bottle. Being a cleanskin, I do not know which winery it originates from but it is truly delicious and I am very pleased indeed with my purchase.
So much so that I am glad to see some more is available at another pending auction and this time I expect to buy two more cartons. This wine has a light cherry flavour, being faintly tart and not too sweet. It goes well with food or without and I wish I could afford more than just two cartons. Cheers!

Auctions are Places to Buy and Sell

I like to buy at auctions but I do sell things as well. After all it is always a matter of give and take! One item I recently sold was a gorgeous kitten print titled "Special Blossom" by renowned Japanese artist Makoto Muramatsu.
I have always liked his art work. His animals are such a delicate cross between realism and cartoon. Although he paints many different creatures he does seem to specialise in cats. I have several of his glossy cat prints for sale on an online auction site, each measuring about 30cm by 40cm.

Peanuts Comic Book in French

This was an unusual item I was thrilled to find. Generally I have to buy my French books while in France or rely upon the good graces of a friend from there to send them to me. However I was fortunate enough to find this Peanuts comic book on an Australian online auction site:
It was in quite good condition, especially being an ex library book from a Queensland school, last lent out in 1977! Now I am hunting for Garfield in French! If you see any, can you let me know...?
